The Kiltha Tones are a male-voice choir based in Midleton, Co Cork. The name derives from the river that flows through this area and the group has been entertaining the people of east Cork & beyond for many years. They perform at many concerts & charity events and recently won 1st prize at the Feile an tSamhraidh in what was their first ‘foray’ into the world of competitive singing!! They have performed all over Ireland and more recently in Germany where they proved a big hit with the locals!!
The decision was made some time back to do a concert in aid of Midleton Community Hospital. Midleton Community Hospital was built as a workhouse in 1841, a further building known as the front hospital was opened in 1937 and both buildings were run as a district hospital by the Sisters of Mercy from 1937. It is currently run by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and provides long-stay, respite and convalescent care to the older population of Midleton and the surrounding area. It is a hugely appreciated facility in the locality which provides a great service, not just to locals, but to many people in the East Cork region.
Without doubt this will be a memorable concert with huge variety of entertainment on the night. Please come along to support this very worthy cause and enjoy the music & craic with the Kiltha Tones and special guests. Tickets are priced at a very reasonable €20 including a raffle for some excellent prizes!!
